There was once again success for Woldingham skiers on the slopes in Flaine, France at the British Schoolgirls’ Races on 29-30 January.
Congratulations to all six team members - Issy K, Upper Sixth, Oksana v R, Lower Sixth, Sophie V E, Lower Sixth, Grace C, Year 11, Alice M, Year 11 and Megan v R, Year 10 - who did Woldingham proud in some icy conditions and against tough competition, achieving the following excellent results:
Issy: – U18 Giant Slalom - 3rd; Slalom - 3rd; Combined - 3rd; Non Registered Giant Slalom - 1st; Non Registered Slalom - 1st; Non Registered Combined - 1st, winning the Grand Massif Cup
Oksana: 1st in the U18 Non Registered Giant Slalom, winning the ESF Cup
Alice: Overall Halfway Medal
Woldingham A team (Oksana, Grace, Megan) – Giant Slalom Best Non Registered Team – 2nd
Thank you to Miss May and Mrs Woolaway for accompanying the skiers and to the families who travelled to France to support them.
Summing up the competition on behalf of the team Oksana said, “It was an amazing experience and we did outstandingly well. We had so much fun and can’t wait for next year!”
