Professional poet impressed by high standard of entries in Woldingham’s annual poetry competition

24 November 2023

Many congratulations to the winners of this year’s Woldingham poetry competition: Farah P, Year 7, Freya S, Year 9, and Imo PW, Upper Sixth.

This annual competition, organised by Librarian Ms Owens, is part of Woldingham’s celebration of National Poetry Day in early October. Students submitted poems on this year’s theme, Refuge. These were judged by poet and musician Kimba Bush, who ran workshops and performed at Woldingham on National Poetry Day. Kimba told Ms Owens how much he had enjoyed reading students’ submissions and how impressed he was by the high standard of entries.
