Students practise the art of networking with guests from a range of business sectors

On Tuesday 7 November, Upper Sixth students from Digby and Stuart Houses enjoyed the first of this month’s networking breakfasts with alumnae and parents drawn from a range of career fields including the Head of Government at Amazon, a talent manager, a course leader from the London College of Fashion, UAL, an insurance broker (political risk), the clinical director of a veterinary company, and a fintech analytics engineer.

The breakfast was not a careers-focused event. Rather, an opportunity for students to learn and practise the art of networking: they had been prepared with a range of useful questions to promote conversation. Our guests shared many useful insights, connections were made, and students were both excited and inspired by the experience.

Guests were very complimentary about the students, feeling that they had asked ‘all the right questions’. From the moment everyone took their seats, conversation flowed easily as different generations of Woldingham women made instant connections and established common ground. We are very grateful to our guests for sharing their time and expertise so generously and look forward to the next networking breakfast at the end of the month for Barat and Duchesne students.
