Junior choirs find their voice on Woldingham’s stage

11 October 2023

Seven choirs from primary and prep schools performed brilliantly on stage in this year’s Junior Choir Festival, a perennially popular highlight in our school calendar. After careful deliberations and comments from adjudicator Susan Waddington, St Francis’ Catholic Primary, Caterham was announced this year’s winner with a wonderful performance of Do-Re-Mi  from The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein (main photo).

Congratulations to all the schools who took part:

St David’s School

Dolphin School

Eaton House The Manor

The Roche School

St Francis’ Catholic Primary School

Cumnor House School for Girls

Oakhyrst Grange School

‘Thank you to all the choirs, staff and parents who joined us for a fantastic afternoon of music making. The early evening concert was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the auditorium and it was plain to see how much the pupils from our visiting choirs loved being on our stage. Nearly every seat was taken. A special thank you to our adjudicator, Susan Waddington, who was so thoughtful and supportive in her comments to each choir and to our Upper Sixth students Cherry and Isabel for their superb piano duet of Jupiter by Holst,’ said Interim Director of Music Ms Rachel Ives.
