Girls’ education specialist Julia Harrington has joined Woldingham as Interim Head for the 2023-24 academic year. Julia Harrington was Headmistress of Queen Anne’s School in Berkshire for 14 years. Mrs Harrington takes over from Dr James Whitehead, who was Woldingham’s Head for three years from 2020-2023.

Mrs Harrington said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Woldingham School just ahead of the start of the new academic year. It is going to be an exciting year for the school on all fronts, especially with the construction and opening of our new Library and Sixth Form Centre. Woldingham is an exceptional school and I very much look forward to being part of the Woldingham community over the next 12 months.’

Catharine Berwick, Chair of Governors added: ‘I am delighted with Julia Harrington’s appointment. She brings with her a huge amount of experience in girls’ education, and I know she will be a really positive addition to the school community.’

The Governors will be starting the recruitment process for a new permanent Head early next term.
