Woldingham’s U14 and U15 Athletics teams took part in track and field events at the District Athletics Championships at the K2 Arena, Crawley on a rather showery Thursday 11 May.
The track heats in the morning saw success for Year 10s Lily O in the 800m, and Erin K and Erin H in the 200m, as they qualified for the finals. We were particularly delighted to see all four of our 300m runners - Ignatia W and Irina B, Year 9, and Chloe B and Freya W, Year 10 – take spots in the afternoon’s finals, as did both of our relay teams.
In the field events, Woldingham gained points thanks to Scarlett C, Year 9, in the Junior Shot, Year 10s Freya W and Chloe F in the Inter Triple Jump and Eliska S, Year 9, in the Junior High Jump.
In the afternoon’s track finals there were excellent displays from Alice M, who took 4th place in the Inter 1500m, and Isabelle G, Year 8, who was running up a year and finished 5th in the Junior 1500m.
In other sporting news, well done to our U13A and U13B tennis teams, who beat Alleyn’s this week.
