Traditional afternoon tea and a treasure hunt feature in boarders’ “Coronation weekend”

Traditional afternoon tea and a treasure hunt feature in boarders’ “Coronation weekend”

10 May 2023

As well as watching the Coronation of King Charles III together in Marden dining room on Saturday 6 May, a group of boarders joined the celebrations in Woldingham village, taking part in a Coronation Treasure Hunt on Sunday morning. They learnt plenty of interesting and fun facts about our local community, including what village residents erected in 1907 and which name is shared by both a house and a cottage (no spoilers here).

Food featured heavily in boarders’ weekend celebrations. They enjoyed a ‘Coronation lunch’, a make-your-own pizza night, brunch of pancakes and waffles, where they made their own shakes, and afternoon tea complete with lashings of scones and strawberries.

Less traditional, but no less fun, was a karaoke night on Saturday and a “Princess Diaries” movie night on Sunday. Right royal entertainment for all.
