Music scholar Clemmie wins festival trophy and secures place on prestigious course for young composers

26 April 2023

Congratulations to Clemmie A, Year 11, on a ‘duet’ of musical success. Clemmie’s piano recitals of works by Debussy and Rachmaninoff won her the Jill Jones Memorial Trophy at our local, highly-regarded Coulsdon and Purley Festival.

Our multi-faceted music scholar’s talent for composing has secured her a place on the Sound and Music Summer School residential course for young composers and creative musicians aged 14-18. During the six-day course, Clemmie and other music-makers from across the country will be inspired by professional musicians and one-to-one tuition. At the conclusion of the course, the students will perform a piece of music they have composed and will also receive a professionally mixed and mastered recording of their piece. We can’t wait to hear Clemmie’s composition.
