Floral fun as Barat celebrates House patron and the past year

Lelia P and Jane R, Barat House Captains

On Tuesday 7 March, the whole of Barat House joined together for a lovely celebration of the past year.  Our theme was ‘Met Gala: Flowers’, and the amount and variety of floral, colourful outfits was a sight to behold, complemented by the wonderful decorations our Head of House Mme Maillot helped us put up.

We began with a delicious afternoon tea prepared by catering, to very high praise. The Wilson Room was brimming with laughter, conversations, and camera shutter clicks. Our thanks to Ms Bamber for capturing some beautiful photos of the night (see more in the gallery below), as well as assisting with our very popular photo booth.

After the tea, we gathered in the Chapel for House Mass. Kate, Upper Sixth, sang, we both gave readings and Fr Gerry talked about our House patron, St Madeleine Sophie Barat, and her dedication to education for girls. A fantastic band accompanied the hymns, which added to the special feel of the night.  We were also assisted by Isabella, our Sacred Heart Ribbon, who helped the service run smoothly. The Barat team would like to thank the catering team, Father Gerry, Isabella, and everyone involved.
