Lower Sixth share tips for top GCSE grades

27 September 2022

Lower Sixth students shared their tips for achieving top grades at GCSE with Year 10 and 11 members of Kritikos, Woldingham’s bespoke programme for academic stretch and challenge, on Friday 23 September. In a session at the end of the week’s lessons, the Sixth Formers passed on general and subject-specific advice based on their recent experience, answering plenty of questions from students hoping to emulate their examination successes. The session was excellent and will now be offered to all KS4 students.

In an earlier session, the first of the academic year, Kritikos students in Years 7-11 warmed up with a variety of stimulating brain games and group challenges, contemplated the poems Days by Philip Larkin and Ithaka by C. P. Cavafy, and spent time planning how to make best use of the year ahead. In the coming weeks these plans include talks from Sixth Form Oxbridge applicants on their specialist subjects, followed by Q&A sessions, staff-led seminars and individual tutorials.
