Forty five Mardeners successfully completed their Reading Challenge, set in January, receiving their certificates at assembly on Thursday 30 June.
For their Bronze Reading Challenge, Year 7s read one fiction and one non-fiction book and completed a series of activities related to them, including writing a letter to the author, compiling a quiz and giving a talk to the class on their preferred book.
Year 8 students read 10 books from a range of genres, including historical, science fiction and poetry, for their Silver Reading Challenge, completing written tasks about each one.
