Students and staff join Diocesan Good Shepherd Celebration for schools

24 June 2022

Fr Gerry Devlin, Chaplain

On Wednesday 22 June, 13 students and three staff attended the Diocesan Good Shepherd Celebration for primary and secondary schools in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton at Worth Abbey.  The theme of the celebration was “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:9-12). We were asked to bring a model of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which Mr Wahab, Head of Design and Technology kindly made for us.  Two of our students presented the model during the liturgy and at the end we were invited to take away another school’s model, which will be shown to the whole school community during Mass on the Feast of the Sacred Heart.

It was so nice that all the schools in the diocese were able to join together once more after the pandemic and a cheque was presented to the charity Missio to help with promoting education in schools throughout the world which lack resources.

After the celebration we all shared in a picnic on the lawn outside the church before returning to school.  It was an uplifting day, which was enjoyed by all.
