Sir Richard Stilgoe enjoys performance by Woldingham and Orpheus Musical Theatre Group

Miss Charlotte Owen, Head of Marden

On Thursday 19 May, Year 10s Charlotte, Grace and Lottie performed alongside Orpheus students in a lovely showcase of musical theatre, including a group number, duet and solo performances, at the Orpheus Centre’s Barn Theatre.

Over the past couple of years, despite interruptions caused by the pandemic, it has been a delight to see our students keep attending the combined Woldingham and Orpheus musical theatre group. What is so very heart-warming about the collaboration is how the girls interact so naturally with Orpheus students – the aim of friendship without barriers has most certainly been achieved.

It was a pleasure to have Sir Richard Stilgoe in the audience for this performance. Founder of the Orpheus Centre, and lyricist extraordinaire, Sir Richard (pictured with Charlotte, Grace, Lottie and Heidi, the group’s wonderful teacher) is very aware of the special relationship Woldingham has with Orpheus students.
