Barat Ball and Digby Feast the perfect ways to celebrate House captaincy handovers

Mr Ben Allberry, Head of Barat

On Tuesday 3 May, Barat House members attended the inaugural Barat Ball in Main House, with a James Bond theme. Everyone was welcomed with drinks on the lawn, accompanied by a Bond film soundtrack playing in the background, which prompted a game amongst Barat staff members of “how old does this make you feel?” During the evening we enjoyed a delightful meal and took part in some fun, and only slightly competitive, dinner games before moving into the creatively lit dance space which used to resemble the coffee bar. It was great to see the effort that students – and staff – had put into some spectacular Bond-themed outfits.

A massive thank you to our outgoing House Captains Lilly and Naomi for putting so much hard work into making the ball possible. From decorating to the soundtrack they ensured everyone had a great time. They have been fantastic House Captains and I know the whole of Barat wishes them the best as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.

The Barat Ball was a fitting way to welcome in our new House Captains Lelia and Jane and wish them all the best for the upcoming year.

Mrs Louise Jenkins, Head of Digby

On Thursday 5 May, Digby House celebrated our annual Feast. We started with a lovely Mass in the Chapel before heading to Marden for a delicious dinner, accompanied by a variety of quizzes. The dining room had been decorated superbly by Digby’s new House Captains, Izzy and Miah. A massive thank you to our outgoing House Captains Bea and Tilly for all their hard work over the last year supporting Digby and arranging many exciting events.
