More District Tournament netball success for Woldingham

Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

The last weeks of the spring term offer much sporting excitement as students prepare for the final netball and hockey matches of the season. For those in the Upper Sixth, it will be their final matches representing Woldingham.

We were delighted to field 10 hockey teams against Kingston Grammar, with notable success for our U13 A, B, and C teams, which all won their matches. Our U15s played some exceptional hockey and were unlucky to not to win their fixtures.

In netball the U12A team (main photo) played fantastically, winning all five matches to win the District A Tournament, held at the Royal Alexandra & Albert School, and our B team (pictured in gallery) came third in the B Tournament.

Our U14C and D teams played some superb netball against Downsend, winning 29-28 and 15-5 respectively. This was a fantastic opportunity for some of our development squad players to represent the school.

Individually there has been more success in the pool for Lara, Year 8 (pictured in gallery), who came away from the Surrey Championships with a superb haul of three silver medals in the 50m Backstroke, Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay.
