Marvellous musicianship and mellow mood at Jazz Evening

10 March 2022

Jazz Evening made a very welcome return to our Live Lounge on Friday 4 March. This may be Woldingham’s least formal music event, but the musicianship was as superb as always and it was very impressive to see students’ breadth of skills on a range of instruments and styles of music.

A host of musical treats included Amaris singing Bob Chilott’s A Little Jazz Mass; four flautists each playing a movement from Claude Bolling’s Jazz Suite; and student soloists, duets and bands covering the work of Amy Winehouse, George Gershwin, Nina Simone, Pulp, Hoagy Carmichael and Sarah McLachlan, among many others.

Jazz Evening made for a wonderfully mellow transition into the weekend and we’re already looking forward to next year’s. In the meantime, you can enjoy Jazz Evening 2022 by clicking here.
