Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

Woldingham students and staff have enjoyed plenty of fixtures and galas over the past couple of weeks. The District Netball League kept our U12, U13, U14 and U15 netballers busy, with successful wins over Oxted, Royal Alexandra & Albert (RAAS) and Oakwood. The U12 and U13 teams also took part in the Surrey Schools Competition, which saw them playing some of their best netball of the season, boding well for the second half of term. The Senior team played some brilliant netball against Ibstock Place and City of London Freemans. In their District tournament, our U14s (pictured) finished runners up in the A tournament and winners of the B tournament.

In hockey, the 1st and 2nd XI teams notched up wins against Emmanuel. In the pool, there were new personal bests for Lara, Year 8, and Maddie, Lower Sixth, in the Surrey County Championships and our Junior and Lower Junior swimmers enjoyed a District Gala at RAAS.

As the school develops plans to make a step change in cricket at Woldingham, work is underway in the Sports Centre to upgrade the lighting and paintwork in line with Sport England levels for indoor cricket. This will allow students to train all year round with indoor cricket nets and improved facilities, ahead of the outdoor cricket season in the summer term.
