Harry Potter Book Night celebrated with a magical party in the library

7 February 2022

In celebration of this year’s Harry Potter Book Night, enthusiasts in Years 7 and 8 crafted their very own Night Bus and travelled by broomstick during a ‘Magical Journeys’ themed party on Wednesday 2 February.  Organised by Woldingham’s very own Professor McGonagall (aka Librarian Ms Owens), with the able assistance of students Léonie, Nicole, Olivia, Fleur and Megan, the Polyjuice flowed and the library overflowed with excitement and fun in a party enjoyed by all, as Alice in Year 8 describes:

‘I didn’t get a letter from Hogwarts on my 11th birthday but I did get the next best thing last Wednesday, as the library was transformed into a Harry Potter wonderland. On entry we were sorted into our houses by the remarkably accurate Sorting Hat. There were magical treats, broomstick races and even a treasure hunt. There was no sign of He Who Must Not Be Named to interrupt the fun. Everyone had a great time before we had to enter back into the Muggle world.’
