Students 'riding high' in popular extra-curricular club

Horse Riding Club proved a very popular choice for students at ClubsFest in September and both beginners and more advanced riders have been making fantastic progress this term. Our weekly visit to Kingsmead Equestrian Centre involves a short minibus ride, so club members have had the opportunity to get to know one another on the journey, as well as enjoying their time at the stables.

One of our longer-standing, more advanced riders, Lalitha in Year 9 (main photo), heartily recommends club membership, saying, “Horse riding at Woldingham is such an amazing club to join. It is a social club where you can make friends with people from other years. The ponies and horses there are so lovely - Eddie and Otter are just some of our favourites. We learn new skills, such as communicating with the horses verbally and by using the reins, and we love our amazing instructor, Chris.

I joined Horse Riding Club in Year 7 because I had previous experience at local stables, and I wanted to progress my skills further. Back then I was not too keen on cantering and now I can canter with full confidence because I had the help and guidance I needed. I look forward to developing these skills further when I learn to jump in the future.”
