Tennis in full swing at Woldingham

17 June 2021

Mr Nick Rae, Head of Tennis

The wonderful June weather has enabled us to get into full swing with several inter-school fixtures for the students, as well as a busy schedule of House Tennis, and a doubles tournament for each tennis squad.

We had a plan of ‘maximum participation’ this term, which has seen a Marden squad of 70 students and an additional 95 students from Years 9, 10 and the Sixth Form training weekly. The sessions have been based on technique or tactics, match play, and even ‘fun games’. All of this serves the purpose of developing a balanced game.

With such large numbers attending the sessions, I am grateful to Lower Sixth students, Bea and India, who have been developing their leadership skills by spending time working with our Marden tennis groups.

There is still time to register for the Parent & Daughter Tennis Doubles on the morning of Sports Day, Wednesday 30 June, so please email me (raen@woldinghamschool.co.uk) if you wish to participate.
