Years 7 and 8 enthusiastically question speakers at Marden Careers Fair

16 June 2021

Students in Years 7 and 8 enjoyed hearing from and chatting to guest speakers at the Marden Careers Fair in their THRIVE lesson on Tuesday 8 June.  Speakers moved virtually between groups via Zoom, giving students a five-minute flavour of what their career entails and how they got there. Mardeners then had the opportunity to ask questions, which they seized with enthusiasm, asking about the subjects speakers had studied and school, the best and worst things about their jobs and even what they might expect to earn.

We are very grateful to our alumnae and staff speakers who brought knowledge and expertise of the fields of retail (Jennifer Shaw, 2012), film and television (Orla Maxwell, 1989) medicine (Sophie Renton, 1977), international relations and policy (Bryanne Hackman, 2013), graphic design (Grant Russell), event management (Faye Scantlebury) and HR (Jackie Thompson).
