The South London heat of the first ever National Reading Champions Quiz, run by the National Literacy Trust, was held online on Thursday 10 June.

Congratulations to our team of Year 9 students who performed brilliantly, coming 15th out of 46 teams. There were 10 rounds of 10 tricky questions, with titles such as Comics and Graphic Novels, Book Villains, Books on Screen and Blast from the Past.  Our team, comprising Anjali, Charlotte, Mia and Katie, chose to play their joker on the Myths and Legends round.

It was a chance to show their great literary knowledge and they put up a terrific fight. It was great fun, as Mia describes below, and will hopefully become an annual event for the school.

Mia, Year 9

I really enjoyed taking part in the quiz last week. I loved the feeling of being immersed in the world of books and testing my knowledge in a fun and engaging way. It was really exciting to meet some other schools online too. I enjoyed working together with my team and sharing all our knowledge.
