Popular author Teri Terry talks to Year 9 about her books and literary careers

16 June 2021

Ms Amanda Owens, Librarian

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we have not been able to invite any ‘live’ authors into school to talk to the students this year. The excitement of meeting a real author, being able to ask questions about their work, and buying a signed copy of a book is a very memorable occasion for many.

However, this week we have had the next best thing – a virtual talk by the popular author of young adult fiction Teri Terry. Teri has written several trilogies of books, one of which, Contagion, is about a man-made virus that escapes from a laboratory on a Scottish island and wreaks havoc on the world’s population. Very prescient!

Teri’s talk about the publishing process and tips for anyone hoping to make writing their future career has been shown to all Year 9 students.  She also talked about her new book, Dark Blue Rising, which will hit the shelves early in July and students were able to order signed copies of her books.  It has been a very enjoyable substitute for the real thing.
