Successful trials set off the sporting summer

29 April 2021

Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

It has been wonderful returning to a summer term with such amazing weather! Over the first two weeks back we have enjoyed seeing more than 100 students take part in trials for cricket and tennis squads, not to mention lots enjoying training for athletics and swimming.

As a department, we are excited to be back working with students on our summer sports, which weren’t able to take place last year. The trials, which consisted of both coaching sessions and some match play, demonstrated that we have many hard working and talented sportswomen in each year group across all sports. All students who have trialled have been invited to train with their year group squad and the potential of all our squads is looking good.

We are delighted that this term will see the return of our fixtures programme, with matches starting on Saturday 8 May.  While the programme is not as full as it would usually be, this is a great step forward for us and we look forward to seeing parent supporters at our fixtures once again, socially distanced of course.
