February marks UK LGBT+ History Month and students across the year groups have been exploring the history of the LGBT+ community in Britain during their THRIVE sessions.
Years 9 and 10 and Sixth Form students, for example, have examined key events in the campaign for fairness and equality including the UK’s first Pride event and the creation of LGBT+ History Month itself in 2005. They have also investigated and debated the importance of the legal changes that have taken place to entrench this progress.
