Students’ love of literature apparent at Book Fair

25 November 2020

Ms Amanda Owens, Librarian

Our annual Book Fair took place in the Library on November 17 and 18 and was very well received. A large range of fiction for all ages and a selection of non-fiction was on offer. Authors such as Holly Jackson, Leigh Bardugo and Robin Stevens proved particularly popular this year. In their year group bubbles, students enthusiastically browsed the books in a COVID-safe way before making their choices, which they were able to take with them on the day. It was heart-warming to see the students respond so well to the books and know that reading, which is so important for good mental health and wellbeing, is very much alive and well at Woldingham.

As author Lisa Heathfield said when she visited Woldingham early this year, books have the power to transport readers around the world without leaving home and there’s probably no better time for that.
