Sporting Saturdays get competitive

Sporting Saturdays get competitive

25 November 2020

Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

This half term we have replaced our Saturday morning training sessions with a series of internal fixtures and tournaments for hockey and netball. These have been a huge success with students finally able to use their skills in a competitive situation. So far hockey fixtures have been held for U14 and U16 squads, as well as a round robin tournament for U12 and U13, while netball has hosted an U15 tournament and a hugely competitive Marden tournament.

These competitions allowed coaching staff to see different students standing out in each team, some showing excellent leadership skills, while others displayed much improved skill levels. We have been delighted with the commitment of our students during these strange times for sport. We are certainly going to have some tough decisions in terms of team selections when external fixtures return.

Our thanks to both students and parents for your continued support of sport during this latest lockdown.
