Muddy conditions no obstacle for cross country runners

Muddy conditions no obstacle for cross country runners

15 October 2020

Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

At a time when so much of our competitive sport has been postponed, we were delighted to run our annual House cross country this week, albeit in a different format to our usual whole school event due to COVID-19. As usual we have embraced our beautiful surroundings, but this year the event was split into a series of runs through our local countryside: Junior (Years 7-9), Inter (Years 10-11) and Senior (Sixth Form) in line with the English Schools Cross Country.

In true cross country style, the course was very muddy and a number of year groups ran in heavy rain. But this is what cross country is all about and it was wonderful to see the girls enjoy the experience.

Year group winners:

Year 7 – Lily (Duchesne)

Year 8 – Ela (Duchesne)

Year 9 – Amie (Barat)

Year 10 – Cara (Barat)

Year 11 – Maddie (Duchesne)

Lower Sixth – Harriet (Digby)

Upper Sixth – Lara (Stuart)

Category winners:

Junior – Ela 14.14

Inter – Cara 17.17

Senior – Harriet 15.03

Winning House:

Stuart
