UCAS webinar takes place for Lower Sixth parents

1 July 2020

On Monday 29 June Mr Abbott and Mrs Chambers hosted a webinar to brief parents of students in the Lower Sixth about applying for UK universities through UCAS. This followed a session with Lower Sixth students last week.  Despite some sound issues with the webinar, parents who took part said they found it very useful.

Head of Sixth Form Mr Abbott outlined the application process including key days, references, offers from universities and firm and insurance places. Mrs Chambers, Head of Careers and Higher Education, provided further insight in her ‘applying smart’ session with useful statistics on offer rates from this year’s Woldingham student applications. She also shared information on which subjects are most competitive and which less so, grades for specific courses, and additional information on applying for specific universities popular with Woldingham students including Oxbridge, Durham and St Andrews.

Parents unable to join the webinar can watch it here. Parents with specific questions were invited to contact Mrs Chambers or Mr Abbott directly.
