District Plate win for U12 team and other sports news

11 March 2020

Mrs Caroline Treacy, Director of Sport

Despite the poor weather our sports teams have been extremely busy over the last few weeks.

In netball, the U12B and C excelled in their District Competitions. The U12C team won the District Plate, playing against all other schools’ B teams, while the U12B team finished as runners up in the District Cup, against all other schools’ A teams. This demonstrates the fantastic depth of talent in this year group - a huge well done to everyone who played.

Our senior netballers have also had some excellent fixtures, playing some nail-biting games against Royal Alexandra and Albert School (RAAS) and Croydon High.

In hockey the U13 and U15 teams enjoyed great successes against RAAS and the U12 and U14 teams beat Croydon High. We also had some exciting fixtures against Streatham & Clapham High and Kingston Grammar at senior level, with more to come in the last weeks of term.

There have been individual successes for our sports scholars in recent weeks. Maddie and Aspen have qualified for regional swim meets, following some excellent PBs at the recent Surrey Gala. Gracie has been selected for the U14 Kent hockey squad. Alex has had success outside of school as part of the U16 Girls Sevenoaks Hockey Club team which qualified for the England Hockey Tier 1 Investec Girls Schools Championships. Last, but certainly not least, Lea returned from the GB Open Karate Championships with an armful of trophies!
