Hat trick for Stuart in Inter-House Pancake Race

Not content with just consuming delicious pancakes for dessert on Shrove Tuesday, Woldingham came out in force to watch them being tossed and carried around Marden Lawn in the annual Inter-House Pancake Race. As Mrs Hutchinson lowered the chequered flag, our Year 7 participants, clutching their house-coloured frying pans, got the race underway. Digby and Barat both held the lead at times during the race but, for the third year in a row, Stuart House was victorious, with Miss Pendlebury bringing pan and pancake home in style. Somehow, Duchesne finished more than a lap behind the other Houses but Miss Whitworth’s solo ‘lap of honour’ to finish will go down in race history. As always, four pans and a small pile of pancakes made for a heap of fun!
