Students help make parishioners' lunch a great success

17 January 2020

On Saturday 11 January a group of Sixth Form students travelled the short distance to the Sacred Heart Parish, Caterham, to help organise the New Year lunch for parishioners. The students helped the chef to prepare the meal, served at table, did the washing up and cleaned up the parish hall at the end. They also organised the raffle and ensured that everyone who attended had a happy and joyful day.

The parish organising committee thanked the students for all their hard work and support and, in a vote of thanks, one of the parishioners remarked that, “The students made the day very special for all. Without their valued contribution, the lunch would not have been so successful”.

I am most grateful to the students for giving up their free time to help others. They were excellent waitresses, kitchen assistants and raffle organisers for the day. All their hard work was greatly appreciated by all who attended this happy new year celebration.
