Alumnae receive gold Duke of Edinburgh's Awards

3 December 2019

On 27 November, four recent Woldingham leavers - Maddie Wingate, Natasha Finch, Natalie Yu and Rebecca Goldsmith - were presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award certificates at St James's Palace. Miss Rose Newcombe and Mrs Fiona Payne, who run Woldingham’s DofE programme, were delighted to be invited to join them.  This is an amazing achievement for the girls and a reward for combining months of commitment, and many miles of hiking, with their studies at Woldingham.

The presentation was held in the palace’s Picture Gallery and everyone also enjoyed an inspiring talk from Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton, Chief Fire Officer for West Sussex. Alongside the recognition for participants, Rose Newcombe was also acknowledged for 13 years of running Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, enabling many young people, including lots of Woldingham students, to be stretched and experience life-moulding challenges.
