Parents contribute to school strategy

10 October 2019

Thank you to everyone who came to the parents’ forum to discuss the School Strategic Development Plan 2019-24 on Monday 7 October. Key issues raised included mental health, wellbeing, our curriculum review and the importance of preparing students for the workplace of the future.

The parents who attended also fed back that, in an era of exciting change, the school needs to hold on to what makes Woldingham special and unique, which is our value-added academic enrichment, our ethos, sense of community and pastoral care. Examples of good practice parents particularly liked included girls being able to choose their own personal tutor in Year 10, and the strong sense of heritage. In terms of development, it was suggested the school could do more to develop the full integration of day students and boarders. Following a suggestion at the forum, the school will look to live stream more of these events so that parents not able to attend can be involved.

Any parents with other views on the school’s strategic plans are invited to contact the Headmistress, Mrs Alex Hutchinson.
