Anything Goes

Anything Goes

19 June 2019

As we have come to expect from our Anything Goes summer concert, all musical life was here! An eclectic programme gave us a powerful Rachmaninov piano solo, from Sixth Former Tracy, immediately followed by the Rolling Stones’ Paint It Black sung by Year 7’s Katie, who accompanied herself on ukulele; the unexpected, and unforgettable, Pails in Comparison, played brilliantly on buckets by the Brexit Bucketeers; Gershwin’s Summertime and Burt Bacharach’s Walk on By from the Scholars’ Ensemble, featuring wonderful solos from Year 9’s Nicole; four fantastic self-penned compositions from Olivia, Clemmie, Evie and Melanie; and a fantastically creative thunderstorm from the Junior and Senior Choirs as part of their performance of Toto’s Africa.

This only hints at the talent on display in this fun-filled evening; well done to all our musicians, and the Music department, who brightened up what has thus far been a rather damp and dull June!
