Students Spread Christmas Cheer in January

15 January 2019

On Sunday, a group of Sixth Formers headed to the Sacred Heart parish in Caterham to help with its ‘Christmas Lunch’, which is celebrated in January! The students took it in turns to serve the parishioners at table, work in the kitchen and to wash up the dishes at the end. They also organised the raffle and ensured that everyone who attended had a happy and joyful day.

Parish Priest, Fr Sean, thanked the students and said that their being there ‘made the day very special for all’ and that ‘without their valued contribution, the lunch would not have been so successful’.

I am most grateful to the students for giving up their free time to help others - they were excellent waitresses, kitchen assistants and raffle organisers for the day. All their hard work was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended this happy parish celebration.

Fr Gerry Devlin, Chaplain
