Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Qualifying Expedition

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Qualifying Expedition

14 September 2018

Whilst many of us were heading for the beach or the pool as the summer holidays began, seven Sixth Formers headed for the Lake District National Park to undertake their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award qualifying expedition. It won’t be a great a surprise to discover that, this year, they had no rain to contend with, but the high temperatures brought their own challenges to four days of walking and four nights of camping. However, the girls did amazingly well, undoubtedly benefitting from their earlier training in Wales, and successfully completed their expedition section. Now it’s on to the other sections of the Gold Award in this new academic year: physical, skills, volunteering and residential.
