GCSE Art Private View 2018

18 May 2018

We were delighted to celebrate all of the hard work and immense talent of the 36 GCSE artists at the Private View last night. The work on show was diverse, highly skilled, exciting and personal. Each student produced studies in Year 10 based on natural forms, giving them an opportunity to show off their observational drawing and painting skills. In Year 11 we start the course with a fantastic four-day trip to St Ives and we could see the influence in the show: waves, boats, harbours, Hepworth, sand and sea. The examination theme this year was Fragments and the work produced was very varied, from stories surrounding an abandoned building, to lucid dreaming, survival of plant life, to the #metoo campaign. I am so proud of the students and their commitment, hard work and creativity. I would also like to thank the Art Department team for all of their time, energy, ideas, hard work and dedication.
