September Sport Round Up

28 September 2017

It has been a busy start to the autumn term for our Sports Teams, with Pre-Season, trials, fixtures and a senior tour to Edinburgh.

The U13, U14 and U15 netball teams all had some excellent results against Royal Russell on the first Saturday of fixtures, with Woldingham winning at U13A&B, U14A&B and U15B. Other September fixtures for netball have included Caterham, Tormead, Thomas’s Clapham and St Mary’s, Ascot.

Our hockey teams have seen competitive fixtures against Burgess Hill for Girls, Royal Alexandra and Albert, Christ’s Hospital, and Tormead. The 1st XI had a great 9-1 win over Trinity, setting them up well for their upcoming County Trophy competition and ISHC Cup 2nd round.

We have had some tough opponents in the Independent Schools Hockey and Netball Cups, which has proved challenging for the younger teams so early in the season while squads are still settling. However, the 1st XI had an excellent match away at Lancing College, where they won 4-1. The 1st VII take on Wimbledon High School in the netball on the 11 October. Having won the Senior District Cup in impressive fashion - undefeated throughout the tournament - this is sure to be an exciting fixture.

Looking ahead to October, the fixture list is packed with District, County and Cup competitions, as well as a whole host of midweek and weekend fixtures. All details for fixtures can be found on the parent portal under SportZone.
