Huge congratulations to our Upper Sixth girls who are today celebrating an excellent set of A Level results. We are delighted that, once again, half of all grades awarded were A*/A and over 80% of grades were A*-B, with almost quarter of our Upper Sixth achieving a clean sweep of A*/A grades.
These superb results are taking them to top universities in the UK and overseas, where the subjects they will study range from medicine, engineering, economics, psychology and chemistry to politics, history, sports science, modern foreign languages and fine art.
Among those who achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades, Millie is going to study Medicine at St Andrews, Ines and Feifei both head to UCL to study Psychology, Fiona will study at the Royal Academy of Music, Lola is heading to Newcastle to study Marketing, Caitlin to Manchester to read Computer Science, Freya to Edinburgh to study International Relations and Valia to Durham to read Theology and Religion.
Our Head Girl Waishe, who also achieved all A*/A grades, is incredibly excited to have secured a place on the Goldman Sachs EMEA Degree Apprenticeship Programme. She will be based in the FICC and Equities team, while studying for a degree in Applied Finance at Queen Mary University of London.
Our Deputy Head Girl team also excelled: Rosie heads to Warwick to study Neuroscience, Jovie will study Medicine at Leicester and Marilyn is off to Bristol to read History.
The most popular universities for this year’s departing Upper Sixth are Durham, Bristol, Newcastle, Exeter, Manchester, Edinburgh and UCL for courses including Mathematics and Philosophy, Italian and Spanish, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Science.
We are also celebrating success for students choosing to study overseas. Norien and Sally will both head to Boston, to Berklee College of Music and Tufts University, respectively, Thalia to UDIT in Madrid and Eva to Bond University on Australia's Gold Coast. Amelka is going to study Econometrics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam and Martyna heads to Poland to study Medicine at Jagiellonian University Medical College.
The skill, dedication and hard work of our art students have paid off handsomely, with A*s across the board for A Level Art. 85% of Modern Foreign Language grades were A*/A and 76% of Economics grades were A*/A. Those girls who dedicated themselves to the rigours of EPQ have been rewarded with excellent results, with over 70% of grades A*/A.
