Cast and crew create ‘a kind of magic’ with the KS3 production of We Will Rock You

24 June 2026

On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 June, more than 60 performers in Years 7 to 9 brought iconic Queen hits to the auditorium in the hugely entertaining form of We Will Rock You. Set in a post-apocalyptic future where individuality has been outlawed and music is controlled by algorithms, the story followed two young revolutionaries, Galileo and Scaramouche, who dare to defy the system to save rock ‘n’ roll. Aided by a group of rebels known as the Bohemians, but still very much under pressure, our intrepid heroes battled the ruthless, power crazy Killer Queen and her followers, coming through as champions and finding someone to love along the way – each other.

Well done to everyone involved on this extremely amusing, well acted, sung and choreographed show. As well as impressing audiences, cast and crew also impressed the show’s director, Mr Neil O’Gorman, who said: “This brilliant group of students were a genuine delight to work with. Although most had never been in a large-scale production before, they nevertheless behaved in an incredibly professional and responsible way, taking it upon themselves to rehearse independently and learn song and dance sequences at break times, lunch times and after school. They really were inspirational and their hard work, good humour and dedication made this whole experience utterly worthwhile!”
