Boarders bowled over by trip to Paris and Disneyland

8 May 2026

Serena, Year 7

I had been excited about Woldingham boarders’ trip to Paris and Disneyland since I first heard about it - and it lived up to my expectations!

It began with us taking the Eurostar, which was so much fun as my friends and I planned all the rides we would go on in Disneyland (but I was disappointed that we couldn’t see fish in the tunnel).

When we got to Paris, we went to our accommodation which was so big and comfortable. The hostel had lots of games and I loved sharing a room with six of my friends – it felt like a huge sleepover.

On Saturday, we took the Metro to Champs-Élysées and walked up towards Arc de Triomphe. We went into lots of shops and had so much choice for our lunch stop. We then met all the other groups at the Arc de Triomphe (which is so big up close!) and made our way to take a boat trip on the Seine.

The boat trip was great fun. We saw the Eiffel Tower really close up, Notre Dame, lots of pretty bridges and so many other cool French things. I took lots of beautiful pictures which will help me look back on the trip and the memories I made.

After the boat trip, we went for ice cream and snacks. They were delicious! We ate pain au chocolat, crêpes, croque monsieur, matcha doughnuts, and vanilla frappuccino over the whole weekend! Once we had refuelled our bodies, we conquered the 222 steps up to Sacré Coeur. The church looked beautiful and the view was incredible.

Then the day came for Disneyland! We went on so many rides, did some shopping, ate great food, saw the parades, and a perfect day ended with fireworks. It was so memorable because I went for the first time with my friends.

Overall, it was a fantastic trip and such fun to spend time away with my friends and make new friends in other year groups too.  I hope I get to go again next year!
