Woldingham skiers improve techniques and learn new tricks on unforgettable trip to Italy

During the Easter holidays, students in Years 8 to Lower Sixth enjoyed some fabulous skiing in Cesana, Italy and had great fun off the slopes too.

Amy M, Lower Sixth

Our school ski trip in Italy was unforgettable, from travelling to France for an action-packed day out in ski parks and cafes to a karaoke evening.

The skiing was great and the weather, amazing. We had two two-hour lessons each day and free skiing on the slopes in the afternoon. The lessons taught us proper technique, along with fun things like a 360 spin, Titanic skiing, and skiing through each other's legs! The resort offered us blue to black slopes, and even had a natural half-pipe and slalom, which we raced at the end of the week.

The staff team that accompanied us created a warm and engaging atmosphere that made the whole trip even more enjoyable (despite them having to wear the ‘dragon hat of shame’ the most, which was given out daily for the silliest story). It was also great to engage with other year groups and form new friendships. We played games (and became Skyjo masters), went out for pizza, crepes and ice cream, and the Lower Sixth had the hard but rewarding task of creating a quiz!

At the end of the trip, we had a prize-giving evening where slalom results were announced and presents were given out, along with a big thank-you to our instructors (shout-out to Lara) and teachers. Overall, our ski trip community made it a trip my friends and I will definitely not forget, and I couldn’t recommend it more to anyone thinking about taking part next year.
