Mrs Janet Travis, Director of Higher Education and Careers
Upper Sixth students took time out from their A Level studies and university applications to develop their networking skills at one of two breakfast events held in November.
Joining our students in the Sixth Form Café were alumnae and parents from a range of business sectors including film and television, law, public relations, marketing, finance, IT, engineering, fashion and medicine. Our guests gave students valuable insights into their careers, including the skills and personal qualities required, and explained the routes they took to get where they are today. Our Upper Sixth were interested to learn that many of them had moved between different careers and industries since graduating from university. It was an ideal opportunity for our students to get a better understanding of professional life and to make contacts for the future. Thank you to all our guests for giving their time and expertise to support our Upper Sixth as they look ahead to life after Woldingham.
If parents or alumnae would like to take part in a future event, please contact our Alumnae Officer, Mrs Alison Alder, at aldera@woldinghamschool.co.uk.
In June, we will run mock interviews for our Lower Sixth students. If you have interviewing experience and can spare a couple of hours to carry out some mock interviews at Woldingham, I would be delighted to hear from you at travisj@woldinghamschool.co.uk.
