Duchesne celebrates House patron and enjoys a pyjama party feast

Imani, Duchesne House Captain

What a great House feast Duchesne enjoyed this year! The food, decorations, games, and above all the pyjama party-themed outfits, were amazing.

Our evening of celebration began with a fantastic service in the Chapel. Head of House Miss Dellarosa Ratti and I read prayers dedicated to St Philippine Duchesne’s courage and commitment in providing education for girls across the world, and an amazing performance by our talented musicians was complemented by the collective singing of everyone in the House.

After the service, we headed to Marden, where the real party started! The whole Duchesne community coming together in cosy and stylish pyjamas saw our House spirit come alive. Everyone’s competitive spirit came out too, as our festival of fun began with a lively game of bingo. Well done to the Year 10s and Sixth Form for winning the game - you really got into it!

After bingo, we were all ready to eat – and we were blown away by the amazing feast that catering created for us. The snacks - popcorn, nachos, guacamole, melted cheese, sour cream and salsa - went beyond my expectations. Then the main, mac and cheese with a pile of bacon, which filled me up to the max. I was almost too full to eat dessert. Almost. Dessert was a chocolate cookie sandwich with vanilla ice cream, which was spectacular.

Duchesne House feasts are always amazing, but this one was my favourite by far (not biased!). The food, decorations, music and atmosphere were unforgettable. I’m just sad it’s my last one, but what a great night to remember.
