Mrs Tania Carrilero, Director of Coaching
Last week, 11 more colleagues from different areas of the school became advanced coaches, after the completing The Journey, a Graydin coaching qualification that is specially tailored to education. The three-day course, which I ran with my fellow trained facilitators Mrs Clayton and Mme Poullain, enabled participants to consolidate their coaching skills, while also learning some advanced coaching techniques and skills that can be applied in lessons, form time and boarding.
Woldingham is committed to developing its coaching vision, to empower students and staff to become the best version of themselves. As a coaching school, we aim to embed effective coaching in all parts of school life by facilitating all staff to train in coaching tools and strategies.
Earlier this year, Mrs Clayton, Mme Poullain and I had the pleasure of attending a coaching event at which Woldingham was awarded the Graydin Sprout Award in Coaching, as a school which has successfully delivered training to more than 100 members of staff and used coaching techniques with students in all areas of school. Woldingham began its coaching journey four years ago, and this award is testament to the commitment the school has shown to fostering resilience, confidence and independent thinking within our student community.
