On Tuesday evening, 13 students from Years 7 to Lower Sixth took part in a highly enjoyable Philosothon with Salesian School, St George's Weybridge, Halliford, and our host school, Notre Dame Cobham.
The Philosothon promotes philosophical enquiry and rigour by bringing students together around stimulus material, allowing them to move beyond discussion towards critical enquiry. All our students enjoyed discussing a wide range of material, from passages from the film Barbie to thoughts on education in the 21st century by Yuval Noah Harari. It was a great evening of academic stretch for all, where new friends were made. Harriet A and Laura K in Year 10 (pictured below) won their age category and the judges gave a special mention to Ava J in Year 7.
