Mrs Paula Schofield, Teacher of Mathematics

Year 10 students Laura, Rosalia, Kewbie and Mimi showcased their mathematical prowess at the prestigious Maths Feast competition, finishing in an impressive second place out of more than 20 schools.

Organised by the AMSP (Advanced Mathematics Support Programme), the competition comprised four challenging rounds, including decrypting coded messages, estimating the number of pet cats in the UK, logic puzzles about different coloured hats – and even mathematical origami.

Our students demonstrated exceptional skills, and teamwork, earning a remarkable total score of 93 out of 100 points. They were presented with an additional certificate for obtaining the highest mark in the first round. Their outstanding performance is a testament to their hard work and dedication. Congratulations Laura, Rosalia, Kewbie and Mimi – you have made us proud!
