Woldingham School Foundation

The Woldingham School Foundation is the philanthropic lifeblood of the school and our commitment to offering transformational bursaries will continue to be at the forefront. Our aim is to fully fund 30 bursaries by 2030. Widening access to a Woldingham education through the bursary programme goes hand in hand with our development plan of building projects which will transform the campus and create new opportunities for all our students.

Woldingham's vision for an holistic education is delivered through investment in our People, our Future and our Facilities. With a fundraising goal of £5million, this is the largest comprehensive fundraising campaign undertaken in Woldingham’s history. As Woldingham evolves, we must simultaneously develop and protect our beautiful, 700-acre site, melding existing space with the changing needs of our academic, pastoral and extracurricular programmes. Our campus will be strategically updated to add new teaching and learning spaces, improved sport facilities and outdoor adventure and education areas.

The lifelong impact of bursaries

The lifelong impact of bursaries

Transformational bursaries have a lifelong impact on students and their families. Here are some of their stories.

"Being Head Girl at Woldingham was wonderful because after seven years of growing and learning and being exposed to so many wonderful things, I had the opportunity to give back and share my experience with the younger girls and make them feel heard and loved…Woldingham changed my life. It made my life in a lot of ways and what I am doing now…Receiving a bursary was so important because none what I have been achieving now, could have done it without Woldingham." - Rachel, bursary recipient currently studying at University of Cambridge and former Woldingham Head Girl

Rachel’s story

"Our daughter greatly enjoyed studying at Woldingham School. She received a very high level of education and enjoyed amazing levels of support and encouragement. This gave her the opportunity to fulfil her dream of going to Oxford University. As a family, we remain utterly grateful for the good fortune. The Bursary Fund is without doubt a testimony to your commitment to inclusion, diversity and excellence." - Bursary recipient parent

"The Foundation isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It is about giving the opportunity to young, ambitious and smart girls who might not otherwise get the opportunity to come to Woldingham to be the best that they can be. I don’t see this as a ‘charitable act’ but more as an investment – an investment in young women who will grow up to make a difference and positive contribution to society." - Bursary donor and former parent

"I am so grateful for my time at Woldingham. It helped me to do well academically to get the grades I needed to get in to medical school. Woldingham is a lovely place. I feel very lucky to have received a bursary to allow me to attend. I hope other people will have the same opportunities as I have had." - Phoebe, bursary recipient and medical student

The Jayne Triffitt Award

Named after Jayne Triffitt, Headmistress of Woldingham School from 2007-2016, and who sadly died in 2018, this bursary is awarded each year to a girl joining the school in Year 7. It provides a 100% bursary from entry at age 11 through to Upper Sixth. We are currently raising funds to enable us to offer the Jayne Triffitt Award annually. With increasing support, we are aiming to increase the number of transformational bursaries we offer over the next ten years, creating more life changing opportunities for talented young women.

More information on applying for a bursary can be found in our admissions area.
