The School Leadership Team at Woldingham School recognises the staff are its greatest asset and our aim is to work towards ensuring all staff are enabled to work in an effective, enjoyable and fulfilling way. Staff development has a high profile, with a Senior Teacher and the HR Manager overseeing our induction and mentoring programmes for Newly Qualified Teachers and new colleagues, as well as an annual cycle of Personal Professional Development planning for all staff, with an annual appraisal for support staff and bi-annual appraisal for academic staff. Each member of staff has their own line manager who will encourage them to plan and undertake a range of developmental activities, both internally and externally.

Staff feedback is actively sought on all aspects of school life as we believe that effective communication and efficient team work are central to the continuing success and development of our School and in turn, our students. To this end the Staff Committees meet regularly to discuss matters of interest to the staff groups.

Teaching staff are based in two staff rooms where complimentary refreshments are available throughout the day and staff dine with colleagues and students in the dining room. All staff are welcome to use our excellent facilities, including our newly refurbished gym, squash, tennis courts and swimming pool. The Staff Room Committee organises regular social events and individual members of staff have organised on-site yoga classes, reflexology and there is the opportunity to take part in the after school fitness and Zumba classes. In addition, for our support staff, the Summer Staff Fun Day and Croquet afternoon gives time away from normal duties through the holiday period, to spend time with colleagues they may not normally mix with. A weekly Mindfulness session grounds us for the busy week ahead.
